Town Hall Lingonberry Milk Porter
No longer available on tap
June 29th thru July 6th
American Porter Description
Inspired from the now wavering English Porter, the American Porter is the ingenuous creation from that. Thankfully with lots of innovation and originality American brewers have taken this style to a new level. Whether it is highly hopping the brew, using smoked malts, or adding coffee or chocolate to compliment the burnt flavor associated with this style. Some are even barrel aged in Bourbon or whiskey barrels. The hop bitterness range is quite wide but most are balanced. Many are just easy drinking session porters as well. Courtesy of Beer Advocate.

flashmcduff says Few infusions

Luckily, I was able to snag two of the Infusion series beers before they ran out. The raspberry stout was already gone. The chocolate milk porter was almost a meal by itself and may have been great topped with whipped cream. The lingonberry milk porter, I would describe as a not-too-bitter milk porter with a hint of berries at the end. Tart, but definitely not overpowering. I don’t think I noticed the berries right away because I blew my palate away with chips and guac before hand.

I love whipped cream. When I have pumpkin pie, I want 4 parts whipped cream to 1 part pie. Not sure how I feel about topping a beer with it, but it got me thinking: it’s time we get more creative with how we serve our beer. A side of lingonberries to accompany the milk porter for example.
