Gluek Honey Bock
January 7th thru January 13th
Brewer's Description
This special bock beer is handcrafted with the combination of special toasted malts and the finest hops and with a touch of honey is very well balanced. Honey is evident in the aroma, (yet not overpowering), but harmonious with the Bock's malty and bready aromas. The Gluek Honey Bock appearance is a light reddish amber to copper color, bright clarity, off-white persistent head. This bock has a medium/light to medium body, with a gentle creaminess, moderate carbonation, with a smooth moderately crisp finish and has a bit of alcohol warming.

CJ Camp says but doesn’t hang up the phone
January 7th, 2008
My dad was a camp director. Every summer until I was 17, my family would pack up and move to the shores of beautiful Lake Mudhen near Siren, WI. (Are you paying attention, KM?)
Sometime around 1980, we got a brand new dining hall/bathroom facility and with it, a new septic tank. Previously, too many flushes in the old bathrooms and/or our neighbor draining his sewage into/under camp property would prove to be too much for the old septic tank and it would occasionally overflow. I can still remember raw sewage trickling down the hill. My dad dubbed it the Little Yellow River, a nod to the Yellow River, where we sometimes took the campers canoeing.

Were you guys regulars of the snowmobile watercross up there? My grandma lived in Siren and that was one of my favorite things to see when we’d go visit her.

Actually, we were regulars at the one in Grantsburg. Yeah, that was a good time.

Any idea if they still do that up there? Might be a reason to go visit my Aunt and Uncle who still live in Grantsburg.
