Schell Snowstorm
January 1st thru January 6th
Brewer's Description
Much like snowflakes, no two Snowstorm beers are alike. Once a year, our brewmasters lock themselves in the testing room with a secret selection of fine malts and hops, only emerging when they've hit upon something truly extraordinary.
Snowstorm 2007 was inspired by the Monastic beers of Belgium. Authentic Belgian yeast produces subtle overtones of fruiit and spice. Six malts combined with a touch of Turbinado sugars help to create a complex malt character, with hints of raisins, dark fruit and rum. We hope you enjoy savoring it as much as we enjoyed making it!

Eric says Better with age
January 4th, 2008
As usual, I was excited for this year’s Snowstorm–I loved last years Sweet Stout. I brewed my first Dubbel this fall, and have gotten pretty heavily into the Belgians in the past year, and so was intrigued by what Dave had to offer. My first impression when I had it a month ago was that maybe my homebrew version had a slight edge, while recognizing that it’s much easier to produce 5 gallons than 500 gallons. Over xmas I had another bottle, and I must say it’s improved. I put a couple away for next year, when I expect it will be off the charts.
