The color looks good, decent carbonation, has a little baby head. Clean taste. Goes down pretty smooth. I can pick up a little clove on the aftertaste. Doesn’t linger too long. Surprisingly short on hops. Thought it would be hoppier? Like many others, I thought it would have a little more oomph, what with the name and all. I’ve been trying to train my sniffer to differentiate odors better, but all I smell is…beer? As it warms (which I hate to let my beer do) I can start to detect the plum aroma. All in all, I am quite satisfied, though hardly overly impressed. My socks are still on my feet, if you catch my drift. A solid contribution by the Braus. I think even a few of my blue collar buds might actually like it, and they hate nearly everything that isn’t Busch, Mich, or Bud. I’ll give it a notch above plain jane average-3.5 of 5. That’s passing nearly anywhere you go.

I usually reserve beers I really like to be consumed alone, and stuff I could take or leave I’ll eat with food. This finds a nice spot in the middle. I had it with pizza, but it was flavorful enough to stand up for itself without taking away from either the eating or the drinking experience.

I’m a bit late finding Brau Brothers Frame Straightener but I don’t think it was worth the wait. It’s not as bad as some people describe though in my opinion. I thought it was a bit fruity, pretty bitter and a little flat. An interesting mix of flavors. I don’t have a problem drinking a six pack of this minus the tenancy to smack my tongue on the roof of my mouth every other time I take a sip. There’s a few other Brau Brothers beers at the store I haven’t tried yet and this beer has been a gateway for me to try the others.

– I know it’s in Texas, probably in Minnesota — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.

Well I’ve been fooled twice now by Brau Brothers. This beer was awful and all the talk of a bad bottle…breweries just shouldn’t have bad bottles…this is the second beer I’ve had from them (Pils being the first) that tasted like it had hardly any carbonation and tasted like syrup.

It reminds me of some of my very first extract homebrews where I thought to myself hmm this isn’t terrible for something I made myself, but would I pay to drink it? Heck no. Thank goodness I bought it as a single so I’m not dumping five more beers down the drain.

I feel bad ripping a small local brewer but I guess ya gotta call it like it is.

I’m OK with the Frame Straightener. It tasted pretty good- I like fruity and yeasty- but I like more body and more finish (broken record). I put it in my mouth, I tasted something in there, then it was gone. Did I even swallow it? I think so, but I can’t be sure.

On the other hand, the Belikin Stout was surprisingly tasty. I’d give it four stars.
