Profile: Two things about me are true: I like beer and I’m cheap. I don’t pretend to have a sophisticated appreciation for beer. I tend to like the taste of darker beers more than that of lighter beers, but I probably couldn’t tell you the difference between a hoppy beer, a malty beer, and a beer with a slight hint of fruit, coffee and caramel. I think that Minnesota has a great selection of local beers, and I can’t wait to give all of them a try.

Exactly what I needed
Week 5: Summit Winter (January 28-February 3) | Reviewed on February 3rd, 2008
I’m enjoying this tasty beer while watching a rather boring Super Bowl. Summit never disappoints. Winter isn’t the best dark beer that I’ve ever had, and it’s far from the worst.
Disappointed Again
Week 1: Schell Snowstorm (January 1-6) | Reviewed on January 5th, 2008
I had my first Snowstorm in 2001 when the recipe was a cherry-vanilla porter. I loved it, and each year I look forward to the new recipe. And each year, I’m disappointed. Add this version to the disappointed list. I want to like this beer, but the bitter aftertaste is a bit much for me.
