Profile: Being from Wisconsin, I pretty much grew up on beer. Leinenkugel's to be exact. So, I might be a tough judger on these over-the-border MN beers, but a lot of them actually do a pretty good job.

bitey, but not deep
Week 13: Flat Earth Winter Warlock (March 24–30) | Reviewed on April 1st, 2008
fruity, and i think, summery? Why is called Winter Warlock? I don’t get it.
Erik says its cause its heavy on th booze.
Its carbonated. I don’t think its what I like, but its not bad either…
kinda like an irish bud light
Week 12: Finnegans Irish Amber (March 17–23) | Reviewed on March 27th, 2008
Not bad. Does it taste like soap? Maybe that’s its cleanness. Like, its gimmick? I don’t know.
I’m totally reaching I think.
Kinda sudsy, Kinda Sour, Kinda good…
It’s just good.
Week 11: Schell Pilsner (March 10–16) | Reviewed on March 11th, 2008
And by saying that I mean that its not bad and its not fabulous and its really not anything special…
its just good.
I feel like if someone really pressured me and I was camping or at the cabin or floating down the river in a canoe and someone forced me into drinking a 6 pack, I may choose Schell Pilsner.
sweet & tasty
Week 10: Lake Superior Special Ale (March 3–9) | Reviewed on March 11th, 2008
Kind of lemony. Kind of hoppy.
Tastes like summertime.
Erik was right. It does taste good with smoked, grilled chicken. Couldn’t agree more.
Did I get a bad bottle?
Week 9: Brau Brothers Frame Straightener (February 25–March 2) | Reviewed on March 8th, 2008
It actually tastes like dust.
I’m not sure what this beer is trying to accomplish.
I keep trying to make something happen, but nothing does.
Wow! Really sweet.
Week 8: Flat Earth Cygnus X-1 (February 18-24) | Reviewed on March 8th, 2008
and carmelly…A little flat, though. Kind of like sweet, thick beer water.
I think I like my beers to reach carbonation station.
its a light, dark beer…
Week 7: Surly 2 (February 11-17) | Reviewed on February 24th, 2008
acidic. and makes me think of heartburn. I don’t think I would ever choose it. Although, I’m not upset that I’ve tried it either. interesting.
good stuff, good times….
Week 6: Herkimer Meet Up, Alt Bier (February 4-10) | Reviewed on February 9th, 2008
The beer was good, and like another reviewer said, the first thought I had was butterscotchy. Which isn’t a bad taste for a beer to have. Although, typically I like to drink the beer as I review, so my memory cells are really being expanded right now.
hoppy coffee
Week 5: Summit Winter (January 28-February 3) | Reviewed on February 5th, 2008
It’s like chocolate milk but take out the milk and add coffee and keep the nutritional value.
Yumtown.
Week 4: Surly Furious (January 21-27) | Reviewed on January 22nd, 2008
I like the grapefruityness of it all. This is not the kind of beer I could have more than 2 or 3 of, but it’s delicious and dare I say unique. Refreshing. And summery…oh for the summertime. ho, hum.
Flat Taste Brewing?
Week 3: Flat Earth Belgian Pale Ale (January 14-20) | Reviewed on January 20th, 2008
I don’t know. I guess I’ve been harsh, but I’m a tough grader. This beer is good. Probably the best yet. That being said, it doesn’t have the fullness of flavor I would like. In my experience, this is a problem with smaller, newer micro-brews. I like the taste, but I want more of it!
Wow.
Week 2: Gluek Honey Bock (January 7-13) | Reviewed on January 12th, 2008
Gag me with a spoon….a spoon with honey on it. Sick. I can’t even drink 2.
kind of sweet…
Week 1: Schell Snowstorm (January 1-6) | Reviewed on January 3rd, 2008
I’m not sure if I mean kind of sweet like yeah, that was kind of sweet or if I mean kind of sweet like, I’m not sure, it’s kind of sweet. I like Schell. I think they do a good job, but I’m not sure about the overpowering sweetness of this beer…That being said, the overall fullness of the beer is good and drinkable.
