Flatly Barely Barley Wine

You gotta love the local little guys, but this is a weak example of barley wine. Sierra Nevada’s Bigfoot has surfaced for spring, I believe this to be a much better representation of the style. Another great barley wine to try if you want your test buds ripped out through your throat is Thomas Hardy’s (it’s a mighty strong beer made for aging). Flat Earth Winter Warlock is just to wimpy to be a barley wine, but I would drink a few more.

Got myself a 4 pack of Surly Bitter at Apple Valley Liquors. They have a great selection of beer. I have loved every Surly that has passed my lips. The Bitter is no exception. It is a fine example of an English Bitter. Thank you Todd and Omar (the Surly guys). Can’t wait for Surly Cynic Ale in a couple weeks!

I usually end up having a cold Finnegans every year around this time. Once again I did and once again I realized there is reason why I only drink this beer once a year. Finnegans is an average beer with common characteristics found in your Miller/Busch realm.
