Profile: I'll be honest. I've been known to drink Miller Lite and other "unsophisticated" brews. I think my beer palette is up to this challenge, however. Bring on the beer!

Simple and tasty

This might be my new favorite beer. It had just the right balance of light favors. Clean and simple equals tasty.
Yummmm
Week 5: Summit Winter (January 28-February 3) | Reviewed on February 1st, 2008
Finally, a beer I enjoy and can give more than 3 stars. I would definitely buy this one again. I love the hints of caramel although I got a taste that I would describe as toffee. It’s not too heavy or bitter and has a pleasant aftertaste. I’m finishing the last sips right now and wish I had a few more on hand!
Pine-Sol
Week 4: Surly Furious (January 21-27) | Reviewed on January 24th, 2008
I’m just gonna to say it– I hated this beer. Where is the sweet malt and caramel-toffee? All I got was a strong pine flavor that tasted like cleaner. I didn’t even finish this one, had to give it away to someone who could appreciate a beer w/100 IBU’s.
It’s not you, it’s me
Week 3: Flat Earth Belgian Pale Ale (January 14-20) | Reviewed on January 19th, 2008
Despite the fact that this brew seems to be a crowd pleaser, I didn’t enjoy it much. I’m not a fan of pale ales so all I could taste were the bitter hops. After reading how much people enjoyed this one, I was sad I can’t appreciate what is considered a quality beer. I disappoint myself.
Not bad, but not good either
Week 2: Gluek Honey Bock (January 7-13) | Reviewed on January 10th, 2008
I will admit I have a fairly unsophisticated beer palette–which might be the reason why I enjoyed this beer. Because of the rich color, I was expecting a more powerful flavor. Maybe it was the honey, but it tasted much lighter than it appeared. However, this beer didn’t have anything special to offer, that is anything a miller lite or any standard light beer can’t provide so I probably wouldn’t buy it again.
A little dark, a little sweet
Week 1: Schell Snowstorm (January 1-6) | Reviewed on January 4th, 2008
I don’t drink too many dark beers but for a “dark” brew, this one was a little sweet, which I liked. I didn’t get much of the rum and raisin “overtones” but I could taste a hint of wintery spices. Overall a decent brew but even with a touch of sweetness, it’s a little bitter for my taste.
